Hey Giants!
This will be a quick update today.
Digital Delivery Happening Now
Digital delivery is going out into the world today. Files are being distributed to backers that have paid. You should receive an email today with a link to download the content you ordered. If you don't receive it by end-of-day please message us on Kickstarter and we'll look into it as soon as we can.
Just a reminder to please be patient with the rollout. Sometimes digital delivery can be a little staggered and it's not strange to have people who finished their downloads and others who still haven't received their emails yet.
As I've mentioned numerous times. We can't thank this community enough for helping make this happen. This has been a labor of love and despite all the hiccups and roadblocks along the way, everyone has been amazingly supportive. We really hope you enjoy the book and can't wait to hear if your parties survived the traps OR if they became just another note in Yarg's long list of people he's lost!

Project Update #27 (Mini update)

Hello Backers, you want dates, we have dates!
Today's update is going to be a short one with some key details people have been asking for.
We became aware of an issue with the early-bird backer gift but it has been corrected, thank you to everyone who reached out. Cards are being charged today, and we are doing digital delivery of all digital products on Friday, October 28th (once people's credit cards have had a chance to go through). Physical products are with the printer, and kitting/shipping of physical products will be done and shipped by the end of November. This includes all physical books and cards only. (The puzzles are being made by a different manufacturer and will be shipped out separately at a later date - more to come later on that front).
Again, thanks for all the patience, we've been working hard to get everything back on track after such a big hiccup, and it feels like we're finally getting our feet back under us.
Can't wait for the books to get in your hands and on your table!

Project Update #26

Dear Giants,
Today's write-up will be slightly different in that I (Wes) will be doing the update. I figure it was best coming from me, as I've been the one who has greatly affected the timelines in the past few months. As mentioned in the previous update, I was the one dealing with an ailing family member. At the time of the last update, it was my belief that the situation I was dealing with was going to be something that would be a relatively short-term interruption. As hard as it is to write, in the weeks that followed, my Mother was diagnosed with terminal cancer and unfortunately passed away a short time later. During this time, Giants of the North (and Anthony by extension) were extremely supportive of my situation and provided me time off to grieve with my family. For this, I will always be grateful. (I am also very thankful to the many backers who reached out with support and kind words when she was in the hospital).
As you can imagine, it resulted in missing a couple of key deadlines that cascaded into project delays (specifically the binding of the book covers). By no means do I intend this to be a pity party or an excuse, but I did want to be fully transparent about what has happened. As of right now, files have been sent to the printer but we missed our "cover binding" window and that process will not begin until mid-Nov. (with final kitting and shipping happening at the start of December). I apologize for this inconvenience and delay, I had every intention of delivering this book by August. Due to this extended delay, I will be pushing the digital delivery up before these books are delivered, so that you can have them as soon as possible. The date for digital delivery will be coming soon - I know everyone is anxious to get their hands on it. Thanks again for your continued patience.
SOME BETTER NEWS
We were able to get the files to the printer and were able to get our proofs approved! They look wonderful and we can't wait for you to get the books in your hand! We took some pictures of the proofs to share. Hopefully, we'll get some more images or videos of the final books coming hot off the press! Please stay tuned.
SHIPPING CHARGES
After much back and forth with vendors to get the best quotes possible, we have added a flat rate for shipping to each region (CAN, USA and INT).
Please check your original survey link to see the shipping rate for your area and the updated balance due (this will also include any add-ons you purchased). If you do not have access to the link or you need to request a new one you can click HERE. Please update your billing information as soon as possible, as we will begin charging cards on October 21st, 2022.

PROJECT UPDATE #25 (THE STATE OF THINGS)

Where we sit...
First and foremost, I want to apologize to everyone for the slow response. It wasn't our intention to go this long without an update. We only have a few employees at GOTN, and one of our key employees who is critical to the pre-press/final design process received some bad news regarding a family member's health. This has obviously delayed us in several ways and has stalled the project over the last couple of weeks. This is, by no means meant to be an excuse, but we wanted to be as transparent as possible without getting into the details of the situation too closely and respecting privacy. As a company, we very much stand by our employees and the choice they make to be with a loved ones during such difficult times. We very much appreciate the patience everyone has shown while we navigate this tough situation.
Where does this leave us?
The team is trying very hard, once again, to push things forward into the final stages of printing. To prevent similar delays from popping up, we've gone a step further and hired a new employee who can help provide relief should life get in the way again. This doesn't help our immediate timeline, but should hopefully help us have more consistency going forward! We're hoping that by next week, we have confirmed thumbs up that everything is off to the printer and we're back on track to getting you all the traps and puzzles you paid for. (We'll send a short update out as soon as that happens.)
What about digital rewards?
We've delayed digital rewards as an attempt to ensure that both the printed and digital copies were accurate to each other. (Sometimes changes need to be made during the pre-press process to ensure things work better when physically printed). That being said, we don't want to leave your dungeons without traps, so we're hoping to release the digital copy once we get a thumbs up from the printer that no major changes are needed. (In the event that there are changes, we'll make sure to send out a second copy with updated changes). More to come on this front.
Hope this helps clarify our current state of Yarg's Guide. I know everyone is excited to get their hands on the book and we're equally excited to get it onto your tables. Just a little bit longer. Thanks again for the patience!
